Figured I’d make this a quick follow-up to my last post, the 25 things women get wrong with men, since I’ve been warned I’ll never have another date. And I made sure to come up with a couple extra beyond 25.

  1. The obvious: Lips, boobs, soft, shapely legs, and ass. And long hair. Short or natural hair is fine, but you better have a damn cute face.
  2. The good nagging: like when we need to go to the doctor and do something really important that we just don’t like.
  3. Your physical tolerance for pain. How the “weaker sex” sits there for hours and pushes out a bowling ball from between her legs, let alone carry it for 9 months is simply beyond us.
  4. Your inner spiritual strength. Way stronger than your body, and ours too.
  5. We realize that once we get a house with you, that’s your domain. We’re glad we don’t have to worry about decorating and furniture and all that stuff. Just tell us what you want, and we’ll buy it or chip in.  Just give us the basement.
  6. You make us work harder. We want to please you and make you proud of us, so we work our tails off.
  7. You upgrade us. Like Beyonce’s song Upgrade U. We dress better and get a few things that are actually in style.
  8. You surprise us sometimes. You can simply do the most thoughtful things that we would never think of.  Especially when you’re a wife and mom, you hit another gear.
  9. Your activities are cool. We think your scrapbooking, decorating, and fashion interests are very cute. It’s what makes you this girly girl that’s so different from us.
  10. Your capacity to give is unreal. Your community service, volunteering at a shelter, taking care of the elderly, all in addition to the things you already do makes you superwomen.
  11. You somehow tolerate our snoring and are still able to get a good night’s sleep. I have male friends that I don’t share a hotel room with, and you sleep directly under these broken garbage disposals. Amazing!
  12. Your cooking. Most men probably are not that great at it, and even if we are, you’re going to bring something new to the table.
  13. Your companionship. After we hate each other for the first 10 years of our marriage, I think we will eventually be fast friends and have fun growing old together.
  14. Your ways are entertaining and we laugh about your behavior with other men. You go to the mall to get something that’s $15, and come back with $100 worth of stuff. It’s funny, unless we can’t afford it.
  15. If you’re not actually nuts, your unpredictability spices things up. Some days we just don’t know what we are going to get with you. You’re like the ultimate box of Forrest Gump chocolates.
  16. You give us purpose. We like to take care of you regardless of how independent you are. We’ll take out the garbage, take care of the car, move and lift stuff. Grunt labor makes us feel like a man. Let us do it.
  17. The way you fix yourself up. Spa, nails, hair, pedicure, manicure, facial. A real man appreciates the effort, and it looks damn good.
  18. The right woman can make the most emotionally closed, macho, 6’5” 230 pound guy do a naked ballet in the living room just to make you laugh. That’s power.
  19. Having our children keeps us in awe and makes you a goddess.
  20. You being competitive, playing us hard in golf, tennis, ping pong, cards, chess, and wanting to kick our asses makes you even hotter to a real man. And when you lose and get mad, it’s too cute.
  21. If we can have a beer and watch a ball game with you, you become the quest of every man. A guy with boobs. It’s even better if you love a team we hate. That makes for a fun weekend, and someone is going to lose a big bet.
  22. When we’re out, and you walk back into the room, you make us we remember why we fell in love with you.
  23. Your tenderness, compassion, and empathy are unique to your gender and are your greatest gifts.
  24. Being with our soul mates make us feel complete and balanced.
  25. How vigorously you protect your children. There is no force of nature like a momma bear and cubs.
  26. You can find something uniquely special about us that we alone would never see.
  27. We get to share our life with someone. Like Billy D. Williams said in Lady Sings the Blues, “Success is nothing without someone you love to share it with.”
